Faith in Action (FIA)

What is Faith in Action?

 FIA connects and engages faith communities and non-profits of Virginia Beach to work in strategic partnership with each other and City departments to provide resources needed to assist those experiencing housing instability.

 

The goal of FIA is to help empower individuals and families toward self sufficiency and to seek strategic partnerships to look for new and creative ways to accomplish this goal.

 

The vision of FIA is to make homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring.  Our partnership with the Housing Resource Center enables FIA to help coordinate and resource needs that could prevent clients form moving rapidly into housing and to prevent clients from losing their housing.

Tools to accomplish this are Charity Tracker, BEACH Closet, Furniture Ministry, FIA Fund, and our strategic partnerships with the Housing Resource Center, VB Schools, Interfaith Alliance at the Beach, BEACH Community Partnership, VBHome Now, and Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia.​
